FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is AcuteAlert a medical device?

No. AcuteAlert is a consumer health-information, personal safety and trusted-contact coordination platform. It evaluates the health signals you permit against rules you configure. It does not diagnose conditions and is not FDA cleared.

Does AcuteAlert call 911 for me?

No. Call 911 opens your phone's dialer and you place the call. Emergency Services is always a separate manual action, never an automatically notified Circle member.

Is monitoring continuous?

No. Apple Health and Health Connect deliver data on the operating system's schedule, which depends on your devices. We show Last health sync so you know how fresh your data is.

What does my Circle see?

By default: that an alert was raised, whether you responded, and a plain-language summary without raw readings. You can additionally grant location or Acute Card access per member.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Personal data is deleted. Payment and audit records are retained only where legally required, without a link to your profile.

Can someone join my Circle without the app?

Yes. Invite links open a web page where they can accept and create an account. The app is optional for members, though it enables push notifications.

Which devices are supported?

Any device that writes heart rate or oxygen saturation into Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android): Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop, Samsung Galaxy Watch and many more.

What is Watch Me?

A temporary higher-attention mode with scheduled check-ins. If you miss a check-in, AcuteAlert prompts you and, if you still don't respond, follows your escalation policy. Available on AcuteAlert+.
